Originally known only from a small stream in Wilpita which is under threat due to deforestation. Presently only about 700 m of the stream left more or less undisturbed (Ref. 6028). It is now found in a number of small, shaded streams in rainforests in Nilwala, Gin, and Kalu drainages of southwestern Sri Lanka (Ref. 84057). Considered an endangered species (Ref. 11966). |
